What goes well with cognac?

We analyzed over 150,000 recipes to figure out which ingredients makes cognac better. On average, recipes with cognac gets 4.37⭐ review scores. But in some combinations, review scores get a lot better.
Here comes the combinations we found:

Significant high scores: heavy cream

Better than not: beef stock, bay leaf, pearl onions, brandy, black pepper, granulated sugar, olive oil, red wine, salt, white wine

🤷‍♀️ Shrug: virgin olive oil, baking powder, chuck roast, butter, all purpose flour, carrots, confectioners sugar, kosher salt, water

Scores poorly: beef broth, crimini mushrooms, onion, parsley, thyme, tomato paste

Pay attention: bacon, egg, flour, garlic, milk, unsalted butter, vanilla, yellow onion

Remember this is how people score them online. A bad combination might not be a bad combination. It might be hard to cook or people make poor substitutions. If you think it makes sense to use something, just pay extra attention.
